  • I am astonished by the current state of American healthcare. We have some of the best medical care on Earth but we exclude around 10% of the country. Obamacare, in the first two years it was established, dropped the uninsured rate by 4%.

  • While we would implement adjustments to the policy, I want to keep the general platform of Obamacare, as scrapping it would only serve to worsen the state of healthcare for many people and families. While Obamacare did have problems, critics often point at its adverse effect on the economy. To combat the financial issues involved, the Wenick administration will create outreach programs to encourage young and healthy people to get insurance, offering them a discount on their first year of coverage. Having healthier people join insurance will lower premiums for people on a nationwide scale. Finally, I will implement tort reform policy that would prevent hospitals from taking advantage of patients and their money by over-treating them. This issue contributes to the opioid epidemic and wastes a patients’ money for no reason.

  • Many problems involving Obamacare are caused by the inconsistency in upholding its core values during the shifting between the administrations of two presidents. We need to stabilize the economy before we can make major changes, so, as president, I will roll out major changes consistently over time and incorporate minor tweaks gradually.
